Credits

Productised uses a credit system to manage AI model usage across your workspace. Credits are consumed when your products run AI operations — conversations, report generation, document creation, and similar.

What uses credits

Credits are consumed by AI operations within your products:

• Collection conversations — each message exchange in an AI Product conversation
• Report generation — generating a personalised Report outcome
• Document generation — generating a Document outcome
• Page generation — filling a custom result page for a respondent
• Knowledge retrieval — searching your uploaded knowledge base
• Research / web search — the Research power

The amount of credits consumed per operation varies based on the complexity of the operation and the length of the input and output.

Credit allocations

Your plan includes a monthly credit allocation. Allocations reset at the start of each billing period. If you exceed your allocation, you may need to upgrade your plan or wait for the next reset.

Bring Your Own Key

You can run your products on your own Claude API key on any plan, under Settings → Claude API Key. When a key is set, core Claude usage is billed directly to your Anthropic account and does not use Productised credits.

Keys can be set at several levels, and the most specific one wins:

1. A product's own key — for one product only
2. A workspace's key — for every product in that workspace; useful on the Agency plan to bill a client directly
3. Your account key — the default for everything else
4. No key anywhere — the product runs on Productised's key and uses your credits

Knowledge retrieval, Research, and image generation still use Productised infrastructure and credits even with BYOK enabled.

Monitoring usage

The Credits page shows your current balance and usage for the current billing period. If you are approaching your allocation limit, consider reviewing which products have the heaviest usage or upgrading your plan.
